Information

Page refers to a proposed or suggested emoji concept for a single sheet of paper, document, or written page, rather than a distinct emoji that was officially approved under that exact name. In Unicode and emoji discussions, especially around the period when many 2014-era emoji expansion ideas were being circulated, document-like symbols were already partly represented by existing emojis such as Page Facing Up and Page With Curl. A standalone Page emoji would likely have been intended for writing, reading, printing, paperwork, school assignments, contracts, forms, notes, scripts, or any situation involving text on paper. Because similar document emojis already existed, the generic Page concept did not become a separate officially standardized emoji name of its own.

Symbolically, a Page emoji could have represented information, bureaucracy, homework, legal records, blank slates, receipts, essays, storytelling, or the start of a new chapter. Internet users may have wanted it as a cleaner, more neutral document icon for captions like "read this," "paperwork time," "terms and conditions," or meme formats involving essays, long posts, receipts, and screenshots of text. If imagined in Apple/iOS-style concept art, it would probably have appeared as a white or pale gray sheet with a folded corner, subtle shading, and a few horizontal gray or blue lines suggesting writing; it might have resembled a simpler version of the existing document emojis rather than a unique character. Since there was no official Apple or Unicode emoji design specifically named Page, such appearances should be understood as conceptual mockups or inferred styling rather than an approved platform rendering.

Emoji History The emoji code/ image log of changes.

  1. This emoji was one of the "suggested emojis" the Unicode group unveiled in June 2014 [article], however, it has been, and still is, up to the companies who support emoji in their operating systems to provide not only images but also an algorithm to replace the emoji code into the emoji image.
