Note Pad is best understood as a proposed or discussed stationery-style emoji concept from the broader era of office, school, and document symbols being considered for emoji and Unicode compatibility. As a distinct emoji under the plain name βNote Pad,β it did not become a separate, widely recognized official Apple/iOS emoji, although related approved emojis such as Memo, Notebook, and Spiral Notepad cover much of the same meaning. This emoji was one of the "suggested emojis" the Unicode group unveiled in June 2014 [article], however, it has been, and still is, up to the companies who support emoji in their operating systems to provide not only images but also an algorithm to replace the emoji code into the emoji image.
