2nd place medal

Information

Online, it doubles as a cheeky award: a playful silver-handed to friends for the “second-worst take of the day,” and a low-key brag that says you’re nearly top tier.

You’ll spot it in posts about fantasy leagues, F1 recaps shouting P2 podium vibes, Olympic chatter, and all those “close but no cigar” memes.

At its core, the second-place medal emoji is the proud runner-up moment in gleaming silver—the “so close!” badge you drop when you almost clinched the win but still earned respect. It’s ideal for celebrating podium finishes, leaderboard flexes, esports P2 standings, or that group project where you carried the load but the judges liked the other team’s font.
