It also has internet and meme relevance because speech balloons are often used in reaction images, comics, screenshots, parody conversations, and captioned social media posts. In proposal imagery or conceptual mockups, it would most likely have appeared as a simple rounded white or light-colored comic-style balloon with a small tail pointing to the right, possibly outlined in black or gray. If Apple had created a full emoji version, it would probably have resembled a clean iOS-style chat bubble or comic dialogue balloon rather than a character with a face, but no widely recognized Apple emoji design became standard for this candidate.

This emoji was one of the "suggested emojis" the Unicode group unveiled in June 2014 [article], however, it has been, and still is, up to the companies who support emoji in their operating systems to provide not only images but also an algorithm to replace the emoji code into the emoji image.
