The entry βflag: Scotlandβ refers to an emoji subdivision flag produced by an emoji tag sequence, not a single code point. It is built from the Black Flag character (U+1F3F4) followed by the tag letters for βgbsctβ (U+E0067 U+E0062 U+E0073 U+E0063 U+E0074) and terminated by the CANCEL TAG (U+E007F). These tag characters are default-ignorable and invisible in normal text, serving as selectors that request the GB-SCT (Scotland) regional flag. When supported, renderers display a single glyph showing the Scottish Saltire (a white Saint Andrewβs Cross on blue). When unsupported, users may see only the black flag, a missing-glyph box, or otherwise no special flag rendering because the tag characters are not displayed by themselves.
