Tag Latin Small Letter N is a Plane 14 Tags character (U+E006E) used inside emoji tag sequences rather than as a visible symbol by itself. In practice, tag letters are appended to a base emoji—most notably the waving black flag (U+1F3F4)—to encode a tag string, and then terminated by the Cancel Tag character (U+E007F). These sequences enable certain flags for regional subdivisions (for example, the England flag uses the tag string “gbeng,” which includes the letter n) on platforms that support emoji tag sequences. On most systems, including Apple iOS, the tag letters are invisible in normal text and only function as control-like components within a larger emoji construction.
Historically, the Tags block was introduced for language tagging and later repurposed for emoji tagging; as standalone characters they typically do not display and may appear as missing glyphs in some environments. Developers should not expect Tag Latin Small Letter N to render visibly on its own; it is intended to be used only in sequences and otherwise behaves like an invisible format character.
