Flying Envelope refers to a proposed or suggested emoji-style symbol concept for a letter or message shown in motion, often imagined as an envelope with wings or speed lines. It was the kind of idea that fit naturally into early emoji proposal discussions around communication, email, texting, and internet messaging, but it did not become a separately approved official emoji. Related approved symbols such as E-Mail, Incoming Envelope, Envelope with Arrow, and Love Letter already covered many message-related meanings, which may have reduced the need for a distinct flying-envelope character.

This emoji was one of the "suggested emojis" the Unicode group unveiled in June 2014 [article], however, it has been, and still is, up to the companies who support emoji in their operating systems to provide not only images but also an algorithm to replace the emoji code into the emoji image.
